WWE 2K26 Not Releasing On Last-Gen Consoles

WWE 2K26 is finally moving to the modern era. According to the game’s ratings page on the ESRB website, WWE 2K26 will no longer release on last-gen consoles.

That means those only playing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are seemingly out of luck.

The ESRB Page Gives A Bit Away

A visit to the game’s page on the website mentions a release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. That lines up with what had been previously reported on the status of the game.

Insider Gaming has also reported in the past that The Island mode was set to come to PC this year. With it only being on current-gen systems and PC, it now makes sense as to why.

2K Sports has yet to officially confirm this, so it could be a case of just missing the systems. That said, with it so close to the game’s March 13 release, it’s highly likely that what’s on the ESRB website is accurate.

WWE 2K26 is expected to have a number of improved features and even some new and returning match types this year. One of the game’s main modes, Showcase Mode, will also feature current World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk. Other features include the Draft in Universe mode, a revamped reversal system, intergender matches in MyFACTION, and more.

  • Fuck you 2k you know dam well not everyone can afford to buy a new game console every year. That being said iwill never ever buy anything from wwe 2k game I hope yours burning in hell. I can’t afford a next generation console

    • Strange comment. Playstation 5 and Xbox series X have been out for 5+ years now, so you’re not having to buy a console every year as you claim. The industry has to move on eventually. Or are you still expecting playstation 3 or 2 releases for the game too?

  • Every year?? The current gen consoles have been out for over 5 years!! Blame yourself for making such bad life decisions that you can’t afford a few hundred dollars once every 7 or 8 years. What did you only get a PS4 last year? That’s your fault. Grow up. Get a job.

  • Id say we’re nearing the end of the videogame console as we at least know it… As the costs of purchasing next gen/current gen consoles increase, and once they hit $1K, forget about it…. They won’t be worth purchasing when the majority of AAA games quality continues to dip or just plain suck, nor would it be worth it for the “little” independent games that could’ve been played on a last gen console…. Not enough good games on the market to fork over that type of money for a console… At this point I’d rather just go retro give me a sega dreamcast console re-release or turbo graphics 16 Sega Master system a colecovision or an Atari 2600/7800+….
