StarRupture has plenty to sink your teeth into, despite only just releasing into early access, and it won’t be long until you’re scampering around frantically trying to locate Calcium.
Calcium is one of the variety of materials to gather in StarRupture, with the task of shipping it back to Earth, and you’re going to need a hefty supply. If you’re not been venturing outside the comforts of your base, you’re unlikely to have come across a decent chunk.
Insider Gaming is here to help, with all the details on where to find Calcium, and some tips on how to set up the ideal mining operation.
How to Get Calcium in StarRupture

Small amounts of Calcium can be obtained by harvesting meteorites, but, similar to other resources like Wolfram and Titanium, large supplies are gathered by utilizing a Calcium Deposits.
While those aforementioned materials are handily located right next to where you started the game, and likely where you built your first base, Calcium Deposits are found further afield—one is located north of the starting spawn, with the other directly east.
If you have a map at your disposal, they’re much easier to locate and are shown as large, sandy-looking areas on the map. Due to the distances you need to travel, however, setting up a secondary base focusing on Calcium mining is advised.
Additionally, you’ll need a steady supply of Calcium before the map is available to unlock, so don’t prioritize that yet. Instead, gather the materials you need to construct a new base at your destination.
How to Create a Calcium Mining Base in StarRupture
It’s wise to build a secondary base to focus on Calcium mining in StarRupture, as the distances you need to trek are large, requiring an ample supply of food and water.
As there’s no fast travel, it’s easy to become stranded at a Calcium deposit without the required materials you need to survive the return journey, and setting up a secondary hub is advised. That way, you’ll have a safe point at the Calcium deposit, allowing you to comfortably plan for a journey back to the main base.
To set up a secondary base, here’s a handy to-do list to ensure you have everything you need.
- Build a Base Core near the Calcium deposit.
- Place a couple of Power Generators to ensure stable production.
- Build an Ore Excavator on the deposit.
- Connect rails from the Ore Excavator to other required constructs like a Smelter, Fabricator, and Orbital Cargo Launcher.
- Set up a small Base Habitat so you have a safe area, and ensure there’s a Storage Box with emergency materials.
Once the operation is set up initially, it can be expanded as required, and it might be worth setting things up further so you have supplies of food, water, and anything else required at both bases.
