Excitement levels continue to rise for the Pokémon TCG’s Ascended Heroes holiday set, due to release early next year, and more card reveals have emerged in Japan’s Mega Dream ex.
Mega Dream ex is the Japanese version of the Ascended Heroes set, and releases on Friday, November 28, with the majority of the cards included combining with new cards in the Start Deck 100, releasing next month, to create the Ascended Heroes set list—and the biggest chase cards have now been revealed.
Mega Dream ex Secret Rares Revealed
As reported by the likes of Pokebeach, Mega Dream ex features 20 Art Rares and a new card rarity, Mega Attack Rare, which are drawn in a comic book style. The Japanese set has English words in the text, while the English set will feature Japanese writing.
The reveal of the Ascended Heroes set has already stated there will be “more than 30” Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations, with the set highlighted by the likes of Mega Gengar, Mega Dragonite, and the return of Trainer’s Pokémon that were initially brought back to the TCG in Journey Together earlier this year.
While the Mega Dream ex Secret Rares drop a major hint of what the Ascended Heroes set will include, not every card will be included, with some likely to be pulled to feature as promo cards, and they could be cut entirely and used to increase the number of cards in a future set.
For example, N’s Zekrom is an Art Rare in Japan’s Mega Dream ex, but is featured as the promo card in the Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box.
