Envy has become the third major organisation to pull out of Marvel Rivals’ Esports scene, with an announcement stating a decision to pause “competitive operations in Marvel Rivals.”
Marvel Rivals’ Esports scene has grown significantly in the year since launch, with competition including the Ignite Mid-Season Finals in Guangzhou, China, offering a $500,000 prize pool, but the scene has been hit by the departure of major teams in recent months.
Envy Follows Sentinels, 100 Thieves Out of Marvel Rivals

In a statement on Twitter, Envy’s decision to halt operations in Marvel Rivals Esports was confirmed, but, similarly to the Sentinels, the door has been left open for a return in the future.
The statement read: “Today, we’re announcing that we will be pausing our competitive operations in Marvel Rivals. We’re incredibly proud of the effort and passion our roster brought to the game, and grateful for what we were able to build together during our time in the scene.
“As of today, all our players are free to explore new opportunities, and we wish each of them success in what comes next. As the Marvel Rivals competitive ecosystem develops, we hope to see the return of Envy Rivals.”
With Envy, Sentinels, and 100 Thieves all announcing their exit from the Rivals Esports scene, which comes free of the Ignite Grand Finals in Atlanta that culminated earlier this month, there is major uncertainty about the future heading into the second year of Esports competition.
NetEase have not commented on the departures from the Esports scene, but a recent post on the official Twitter account of Marvel Rivals Esports said 2025 was “just the beginning,” and that “in 2026, that spark becomes something even greater.”
