Devolver Digital’s Skate Story will be added to PlayStation Plus on December 8, 2025; available on Day One for Extra and Premium/Deluxe members.
The only skating title we have been hearing about recently is EA’s Skate. with players being informed about the game’s $40 cardboard Dead Space skin last month. However, it seems like there is a new competitor in town, bringing a surreal skating adventure to the mix.
Skate Story Has You Playing as a Demon Made of Glass and Pain
Along with the Day One announcement for PlayStation Plus, the blog post also provided players with a hands-on report for Skate Story. Players have to embody the role of a demon who is made of glass and pain. They aim to consume the pale planetoid, but the only way they can get there is through a skateboard, which was granted to him “by the Devil… for a price.”
The game will have players skate through large, open environments, fast, narrow lanes, and leaping over obstacles and jumping through gates while completing a set of tasks. The game also has boss battles, and the only way to inflict significant damage is to “skate fast and pop a variety of tricks to build a combo, then press the square button in mid-air before landing to perform a devastating stomp.” The higher the combo chain, the better the damage.
Skate Story also features a customization hub, where the player is granted a shapeless soul space that serves as both a hub that bridges each chapter and the area where players can customize their boards. The customisations cost soul currency, which is acquired by performing stunts.
