EA FC’s New Open World Mode Might Already Have A Release Window

All eyes are on the EA FC open-world idea finally coming to life. An exclusive playtest has allowed the FC community to try out a new open-world EA FC environment, but a report might have revealed its release window ahead of time.

EA FC 26 is still EA’s main baby at the moment. We’ve had all the usual content so far, from new ICONs to the introduction of Competitive & Authentic Gameplay. But EA has been cooking up an open-world mode for a while, and it’s much further along than any of us realised.

Open World Mode Possibly Debuting In EA FC 27

According to Football Gaming Zone, the open-world feature could release as soon as EA FC 27 in 2026!

The site’s exclusive story revealed that insider information had been obtained from a secret EA presentation. Check out FGZ’s comments in full right here:

“Throughout the presentation, numerous images and slides displayed the phrase “EA SPORTS FC 27,” strongly indicating that the current playtest is only a preview of a much larger experience set to debut in EA FC 27.”

Obviously, we should take the information with a pinch of salt. Everything is subject to change in this industry. The presentation might well have EA FC 27 attached to all screenshots and videos, but this could either be a placeholder or just the current timeframe for EA’s inevitable open-world addition.

Everything points to it being comparable to NBA 2K’s ‘The City.’ This could be the biggest shake-up EA FC has seen in years. We’ll continue to monitor the situation, and for now, at least, we can possibly look forward to the new game mode arriving in 2026 for FC 27.
