The Call of Duty film from Paramount has found its production crew in Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan and Friday Night Lights’ Peter Berg. Sheridan is set to write and produce, with Peter Berg writing, producing, and directing.
Bringing the Call of Duty series to film feels like its been a long time coming. From a simple military shooter to one of the biggest FPS franchises of all time, the Activision series has been through a lot. When a film was announced, fans were rightly curious as to what it would be like, especially if it would adapt an already existing storyline like Modern Warfare. While today’s news is not that, we now know who will be at the helm, and it’s some heavy hitters.
Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg Join Call of Duty Film from Paramount

Reported by Deadline, Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg are helming the Call of Duty film adaptation for Paramount. As mentioned before, Berg is directing and Sheridan is producing and writing. The two have previously worked together for 2016’s Hell or High Water, which earned four Academy Award nominations, including one for Best Original Screenplay. No new information, like plot or casting, is available in the report.
Taylor Sheridan is a huge draw, as his work on the mega-hit Yellowstone, as well as shows like Tulsa King, Landman, and Mayor of Kingstown, has earned him multitudes of praise. Peter Berg, meanwhile has focused on action films in recent years like Patriots Day, Mile 22, and Lone Survivor. Coincidentally, most of his projects star Mark Wahlberg, so we may see The Departed actor take up arms in Call of Duty.
