Pokémon Legends: Z-A has a host of items to collect, some of which are important for completing the Pokédex, and a King’s Rock is required for one specific Pokémon.
Similar to other games in the Pokémon franchise, Slowpoke has a branched evolution line with Slowbro and Slowking as its potential evolved forms, the latter of which requires a King’s Rock to unlock the evolution in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
If you have a Slowpoke ready to take the throne and evolve into Slowking, here are all the details on the location of King’s Rock in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Where to Find King’s Rock in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

A King’s Rock in Pokémon Legends: Z-A first becomes available for completing a particular Side Mission, which is focused on beating Pokémon that use attacks which may make opponents flinch.
Side Mission 84: Strike First to Make ‘Em Flinch provides a King’s Rock as a completion reward, with the NPC for this particular quest found on the battle quart next to the Quasartico Inc. building—a location you should be familiar with from the story, as it’s where your crucial showdown with Vinnie takes place.
In the quest, you’re tasked with defeating three Pokémon; Sharpedo, Arbok, and Gyarados, each of which has attacks that can cause your Pokémon to flinch in battle. You should be able to defeat the trio relatively easily, however, particularly with the use of Electric Pokémon, as both Sharpedo and Gyarados share that weakness.
The side mission is not repeatable, however, and offers a one-time reward, so while it will be enough to secure Slowking and tick it off in your Pokédex, you’ll need more if you capture a Shiny or an Alpha Slowpoke and want to evolve it.
A King’s Rock is also a possible reward for victories in the Infinite Z-A Royale in the post-game, but there’s another guaranteed way to receive the item.
Where to Buy King’s Rock in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
King’s Rock can be purchased from an NPC inside Racine Construction in the post-game of Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Racine Construction has its own fast-travel point, making it easy to return to the location. Once there, head inside and into the warehouse where you had your showdown with Canari. Two NPCs are located near a staircase, both offering important items.
The NPC on the left has a list of items available to purchase, including the Metal Coat required to evolve Onix and Scyther, while the one on the right has King’s Rock among their itinerary, and there is no limit to the amount of King’s Rocks you can purchase, meaning you can have an army of Slowking’s, if you really want to.
