Silent Hill 2 Remake may be making its foggy way to Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series consoles soon, according to a new update.
A remake of the original 2001 Konami title, Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 released in 2024 to acclaim from fans and critics. Following James Sutherland, you’ll enter the fog-riddled town of Silent Hill to find your once-thought-dead wife. The psychologically twisted narrative was a hit then and even more so now, winning multiple awards. However, the game was only for PlayStation 5 and Steam. Now, a new website upgrade may hint that it’s coming out of the shadows to new consoles.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Potentially Heading to Nintendo Switch, Xbox Soon
According to Reddit user PracticalSubstance99, Bloober Team recently updated its site for Silent Hill 2 Remake. Interestingly, two spots on the sides of Steam and PlayStation in the console area are empty. Nothing is in them, of course, but pictures, linked in the post, indicate that they are left as a placeholder. While it isn’t a confirmation that Silent Hill 2 is heading to Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, it does seem likely. Furthermore, Bloober Team, fresh off Cronos: The New Dawn, is planning a PS5 Pro patch, so it could coincide with it.
The ports aren’t too far-fetched, as the exclusivity period for Silent Hill 2 Remake ends on October 8th, 2025, a year after its release. Fans in the comments were hopeful that the news was true, as more people can play the classic horror title. Still, many hope that the new editions could come with new content like the original Born from a Wish DLC. A SteamDB leak hinted at its existence, which follows character Maria, but nothing has been confirmed. Regardless, Bloober Team is working on a remake of the original Silent Hill, so returning to James and company isn’t out of the picture.
