For the first time ever in the series, Little Nightmares 3 has cooperative multiplayer, letting you play alongside a friend, but does it have crossplay?
There are many challenges ahead for Low and Alone in Little Nightmares 3, but they at least have one another. Likewise, while you can play the game solo, you can bring in a friend to get the co-op experience the second game never had.
Here is your answer to whether or not Little Nightmares 3 has crossplay or any other cross-platform features.
Is Little Nightmares 3 Crossplay?

No, Little Nightmares 3 does not have any crossplay functionality between competing platforms. That said, there is cross-generation functionality, which means that PlayStation 4 and 5 players can join each other, as can Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players. It also appears that Nintendo Switch 1 and Switch 2 players will not have cross-gen support at launch.
Little Nightmares 3 not having crossplay is quite a disappointing development, especially when you consider that while the game has co-op, there is no local co-op. According to the official website, the development team is “still considering adding it,” though we wouldn’t expect it to ever come.
If you want to play with a friend, you are forced to do so through two different devices under the same console family. If you have a significant other or anyone else you live with, your options are going to be extremely limited to enjoy the game alongside them.
On the more positive side, Little Nightmares 3 does support friend pass, meaning that only one person needs to buy the game, and then the second person (your friend) can download a free version and join your game. Like other games that use this feature, the one who bought the game will only unlock achievements/trophies, and will be the only one who will save progress.
Does Little Nightmares 3 Have Cross-Progression?
Like the crossplay situation, Little Nightmares 3 does not support cross-progression saves between competing platforms. That said, moving between a console within the same family will let you download a cloud save and continue your progress.
This is not necessarily a built-in cross-progression, but rather a product of the game being available on both the older and newer generations of consoles. Again, it is quite disappointing that Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games couldn’t work in a more standard form of cross-platform functionality, but it is what it is.
