In a clip uploaded to TikTok, one Grand Theft Auto fan has revealed the lengths they’ll go to when seeking more information about the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 6.
The 30-second video uploaded recently on the video-sharing platform showed an individual approaching employees outside Rockstar North’s main office in Edinburgh, Scotland, and challenging them on information about delays or a new trailer. The video has understandably been met with intense criticism across social media.
PSA: Don’t Be Like This Guy
On TikTok, user ‘BackonBoulevard’ uploaded a 30-second clip, in which he claimed he’d flown to Edinburgh, Scotland, to harangue employees of Rockstar North. The clip shows him approaching staff as they leave the building at night, asking them when ‘the delay’ is being announced or when the next trailer is due.
The staff give nothing away and are seen moving quickly away from the man, a creator from the United States whose identity we’ve not been able to determine.
Unfortunately, the comments under the TikTok video are encouraging of this behavior, which is one of the most bizarre things you could do when trying to get more information about a game. One user wrote, ‘They did it to themselves. Just release the game already.’
Another wrote, ‘Bro should’ve just grabbed a dev and ran, then questioned.’
Outside of TikTok, the video has been labelled ‘disgusting’, with users demanding the creator be arrested for harassment.
If there’s one thing you shouldn’t be doing to spur on the development of a game, it’s grabbing developers outside their office in the dark of night. Given that the sun isn’t setting in Edinburgh until around 7 PM these days, the creator was likely hanging around outside the office until late into the night.
