Hades 2 on Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service would be a huge win. The Princess of the Underworld has had the unenviable task of trying to live up to her brother’s legacy, so let’s see if Supergiant Games is bringing the adventure to Xbox and PC users for free.
It’s been a long time in early access for Hades 2. Supergiant Games has understandably wanted to get everything right with the follow-up to 2020’s Game of the Year. But now it’s time for the full Hades 1.0 release for everyone to get their hands on the complete game.
There are lots of questions that need answering, though: Does it have cross-progression? And is it available through Xbox Game Pass?
Can You Play Hades 2 on Xbox Game Pass?
As it stands, Hades 2 will not be coming to Xbox Game Pass, and this is mainly because the roguelike sequel isn’t scheduled to launch on Xbox consoles.
Even though Hades was eventually released on all platforms, the launch window for Hades 2 only includes the Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, and PC. This means if you’re on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, you need to wait for Hades 2 to come to each console—and even then, it’s not a guarantee.
The official Hades 2 FAQ has this to say: “While we haven’t ruled out bringing Hades II to any other platforms, our current focus is only on the versions listed above. The original Hades v1.0 likewise initially launched only on PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch, and we’re taking a similar path with the sequel.”
Will Hades 2 Ever Come to Xbox Game Pass?
If Hades 2 is ever released on Xbox, there’s a very good chance it will come to Xbox Game Pass as its predecessor did—twice!
Previous releases in a series or franchise are usually top indicators of a newer game’s Xbox Game Pass status. In Hades’ case, the original came to Xbox Game Pass, was removed, and then it was one of 13 new games in September 2025. This means Xbox is not afraid to agree to a deal to bring Hades to Xbox Game Pass.
Hades 2 is likely to be a successful sequel. So, we absolutely cannot rule out Hades 2 coming to Game Pass if an Xbox launch happens. It does mean that if you have Xbox Game Pass, you can play Hades 1 while you wait for an update.
