After years of waiting, the next title in the Digimon Story series is coming with Digimon Story: Time Stranger, and we’ve got all the details on its Xbox Game Pass availability.
Set for release on October 3, though a free demo is available where progression to the full game transfers over, Digimon Story: Time Stranger puts the famous franchise back into the mix, landing slightly ahead of Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
If you want to know whether you can save money on splashing out on Time Stranger with a Game Pass subscription, here’s all the details you need.
Can You Play Digimon Story: Time Stranger on Xbox Game Pass?

No, Digimon Story: Time Stranger will not be playable with an Xbox Game Pass subscription when the title releases on October 3.
Microsoft has already announced a slew of Game Pass releases up to October 7, and, while more could be added to that list for the early part of October, Time Stranger will not be among any other additions.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise, however, as Time Stranger is not a first-party Xbox title, which would result in automatic Game Pass inclusion, and any announcement of it joining the service as a day-one launch would have been made well in advance.
However, it doesn’t necessarily mean the door is closed to inclusion permanently.
Will Digimon Story: Time Stranger Come to Xbox Game Pass?
There are no details to suggest that Digimon Story: Time Stranger will come to the Xbox Game Pass service, but an addition cannot be ruled out entirely.
Many Bandai Namco titles don’t make the move to join Game Pass, with the only title currently in the subscription being Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom, but that shows there is an existing relationship between the publisher and Microsoft.
Still, given Time Stranger has the Digimon franchise to propel it forward, any potential Game Pass addition is likely a long way off. A suitable comparison may be Dragon Ball: Sparkling! ZERO, which was released in October last year and has not made a move to Game Pass yet.
