What Is The Max Level in Borderlands 4? Max Level Explained

Borderlands 4 has so much content you’ll likely turn into a real-life Vault Hunter when all is said and done. But while you’re immersed in the virtual world, you might wanna know what Borderlands 4’s max level is, so you know the number to chase.

It’s the same way with every Borderlands game: You pile through levels early on, kill every enemy in sight, and try to complete as many side quests as you can before you even complete the first main mission. That’s our experience in Borderlands 4, but it’s hard not to with Kairos’ deep, open world.

You’ll level up many times through the game, so let’s check out what the max level is in Borderlands 4.

Level 50 is the maximum level in Borderlands 4, keeping up the theme throughout the Borderlands franchise.

Before DLCs and future patches, the max level cap in Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3 was 50. It eventually reached 80 in the second game, and 72 in Borderlands 3, but the default cap was always 50.

This remains the same in Borderlands 4. The Borderlands 4 trophy list confirms this with the ‘Master of Death and Dance’ trophy, which you get when you ‘Reach player level 50.’ The only other player-level trophy is ‘Gear Five!’ and this is dished out when you ‘Reach Ultimate Vault Hunter Level 5.’ This is beyond normal player levels, though, so we don’t count this.

How To Reach Level 50 in Borderlands 4

The best way to reach Level 50 in Borderlands 4 is by completing every main story mission, doing side quests, finding collectibles, fighting Rift bosses, replaying previous story bosses, and eventually completing Bounties in New Game Plus.

Our honest recommendation is simple: Play and enjoy Borderlands 4. It’s a great game!

If you’re in a rush to pile on the levels, YouTuber Joltzdude139 has an effective XP grind method that kicks in after the endgame. The video confirms the Level 50 cap, in case you had doubts, and this looks to be one of the most effective level-grinding strategies in Borderlands 4.
