How to Complete The Terrible Tyrant in Hollow Knight: Silksong—Skull Tyrant Location and How to Beat

The skull tyrant in Hollow Knight: Silksong is a gigantic variant of an enemy you will see often in The Marrow.

With that size, this boss will jump up and down a lot, causing boulders to fall from the ceiling that will force you to remain on your toes. Before you can take on this monster, you need to first find it.

Here is where to find the Skull Tyrant in Hollow Knight: Silksong, and then how to beat it.

Before the Skull Tyrant will appear in the world, you need to have already defeated Widow in Bellhart. After doing that, you can return to Bone Bottom and go to the jobs board to find The Terrible Tyrant. The locals are terrified of the big creature and are offering a big reward if you defeat it.

To find the Skull Tyrant in Hollow Knight: Silksong, run along the bottom portion of The Marrow until you come to the button-powered wagon. Ride it across the lava lake. When you hop off, jump up to the wall above that leads to a dark corridor.

While moving through these dark hallways, there are some enemies you’ll have to deal with, but nothing you’ve never seen before. On the lower portion, you can find a group of rosary beads, but outside of that, just work yourself upwards and break apart the wall in the image below.

Pass through the hole in the ceiling after that wall, and you will be in the boss arena. To the right is a silk thread you can strike to fill up your silk if you need it. Before you jump up and take on the Skull Tyrant, run over to the left and strike the lever to open a gate that will allow you to avoid going through that dark tunnel again.

When ready, strike the giant skull to start the fight.

As an optional boss in Hollow Knight: Silksong, the Skull Tyrant is not a complicated opponent. The only attacks it has revolve around jumping up and down, causing boulders to fall from the ceiling, and charging at you across the arena.

All you need to do throughout this entire fight is jump over the Skull Tyrant when he is running and avoid falling boulders. Sometimes, it will leap towards you, so just run under it or away from it. Using your swift step will allow you to avoid a lot of incoming damage.

If you are unsure about getting in close to the Skull Tyrant, you can throw some tools out to poke away damage. Keep avoiding damage and slashing away until the creature is defeated. After it dies, pick up the Crown Fragment it drops and return to the jobs board. You will be given a Heavy Rosary Necklace, which is worth 220 rosaries.
