It has been suggested that Marvel Rivals might have a PS4 version inbound. This borderline bizarre claim comes courtesy of PlayStation Game Size on social media, a prominent channel that uses datamining and backend references to uncover new listings, updates, and… Well, file sizes for PlayStation games and expansions.
In a recent post, PlayStation Game Size suggested that they’d uncovered a Marvel Rivals PS4 version, but they immediately followed up the post by saying, ‘I hope it never gets released.’
Is Marvel Rivals Coming to PS4?
One of the chief concerns from fans responding to the Marvel Rivals PS4 post was centered around the performance of the game. It was a hypothetical debate, of course. It’s hard to imagine that Marvel Rivals would run well on PlayStation 4, which is now more than a decade old.
Recently, it was revealed that more developers are dropping tools where the last generation is concerned. Days ago, the Genshin Impact team confirmed that the PS4 version of the game is scheduled for shutdown.
The post on social media from PlayStation Game Size is a telling thing, but it’s not fully indicative of Marvel Rivals coming to PlayStation 4:
This style of post is usually associated with PlayStation Game Size having found something for the first time, such as a backend reference or a new addition to the PlayStation Store. The lack of anything deeper solidifies my recommendation to (for now) take this with a pinch of salt.
Nothing is confirmed until it’s confirmed! NetEase will be the one to address this, and we’ve already reached out.
