Will Battlefield 6 be on PS4 or Xbox One? Last-Gen Console Status Explained

The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S may rule the current-gen console waves, but there’s still plenty of love for the PS4 and Xbox One. Battlefield 6 is looking to light up the sky with booming bombs, vehicles, and violence, which is why we’re checking if it’s coming to the PS4 and Xbox One for potentially one last hurrah.

You sometimes forget that many people haven’t upgraded. Many of you are content with your PS4 or Xbox One and don’t feel the need to upgrade—and I respect it! As time and technology progress, though, it means newer games are opting to skip the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One more so than ever.

If you’re on last-gen hardware, I’ll answer the Battlefield 6 question for you now.

Battlefield 6 is not coming to PlayStation 4, which means that if you are a PlayStation fan and want to play BF6, you need to upgrade to a PS5 console.

From what we’ve seen of gameplay trailers and the multiplayer reveal, Battlefield 6 looks like an absolute unit of a game. A metaphorical monster that will place strain on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, let alone the PS4 and Xbox One.

Fewer companies are prepared to spend additional time developing a downsized product, as it costs more money and it’s usually an inferior product. Battlefield 6 hasn’t been given a PS4 version, so you’ll need to shell out for a PlayStation 5, a PS5 Pro, or even wait for the rumored PS6.

Is Battlefield 6 Coming to Xbox One?

It’s more bad news as Xbox One users will also not be getting a Battlefield 6 last-gen port.

You usually find that if a game isn’t coming to the PS4, the logic applies to the Xbox One, and vice versa. But yes, Xbox One owners must seek sanctuary in the comfort of an Xbox Series X|S controller to play Battlefield 6—or defect to PlayStation 5 if you still want a console port!

I also wouldn’t count on a last-gen release after Battlefield 6’s full launch. If anything, the Switch 2 getting a port is more reasonable. It’s also out of the question for now, so you need to decide on a PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, or none of the above, where Battlefield 6 is concerned.

Battlefield 6 is going to be destructive, hopefully, in a good way. It seems to be one of the strongest-looking BF titles in a decade, but do you agree? If not, head to the Insider Gaming forum to say why you think it will falter. Maybe Black Ops 7 will still reign supreme.

  • Crazy. PS5 just hasn’t lived up to expectations honestly the reverse and the industry has changed too much it’s just boomers who refuse to realize this or admit Nintendo owns the console space. Most will pass on BF6, EA needs to realize that and finally go back to the 2000’s style with Def Jam, SSX, and NBA Street
