Nintendo Direct Announced For July 31

The rumors were true. Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Direct will take place on Thursday, July 31 at 9am ET.

The direct will be a “Partner Showcase” event that will run “for roughly 25 minutes”. It will include details on upcoming games for both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 from Nintendo’s publishing partners. That means it’s unlikely to see any information on games like Kirby Air Riders, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and other first-party games.

There’s a good chance, however, that players might get a first look at gameplay of Borderlands 4 running on the Nintendo Switch 2. Maybe even more from FromSoftware’s Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods? What about Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds? How about any surprises?

These questions will all be answered in less than 24 hours. As with all Nintendo Directs, Insider Gaming will have full coverage of everything announced.

The last Nintendo Direct took place in June, and focused solely on Donkey Kong Bananza. The last proper direct that wasn’t directly tied to a single game was when the company revealed the Nintendo Switch 2 in full on April 2.

What are you hoping to see from the Nintendo Direct on July 31? Let us know down below, and take the discussion further in the official Insider Gaming forums.

Comments

  • If Metroid Prime 4 is this year why not show it now? They really want to wait for a Fall direct? I swear they’re copying Sony waiting last minute for reveals or updates. Any chance Project Watari is here or was that announced? Feels like nothing of value will be here.

  • Nothing will be here as usual. If there is no Metroid then what is the point? Nintendo just has these pointless directs. My guess game is delayed. Not sure about Duskbloods showing up. Generation almost done for everyone else and they failed to deliver 2028.

  • Watch no games will be announced it will be existing things. Directs have been so bad for so long now it’s getting to state of play levels actually worse than those. Normally the e3 adjacent direct would be epic now it’s either not there or bad.
