Is Battlefield 6 on Nintendo Switch 2?

Battlefield 6 is one of the biggest titles of the year, and the launch of Nintendo Switch 2 has opened the door for more games to release on the platform, so will the EA behemoth be making the move?

Launching October 10, excitement is rising for Battlefield 6 with an imminent Open Beta, which includes playlists for class-specific weapons, and the reveal trailer showed intense campaign scenes.

Battlefield 6 is confirmed to be a next-gen exclusive title, meaning it won’t be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and we’ve gathered what we know about a Switch 2 release.

Can You Play Battlefield 6 on Nintendo Switch 2?

No details are known on whether Nintendo Switch 2 players will be able to enjoy Battlefield 6, though we could hear details soon.

The reveal trailer for Battlefield 6 is set for July 24, with Insider Gaming exclusively reporting a full reveal will take place in a COD Next-style event on July 31. Either of those dates could give us solid details on the Nintendo Switch 2 status.

So far, the Switch 2 has proven itself to be capable of playing big third-party titles, a significant improvement from the original Switch console, which could mean a fresh flood of titles on the handheld platform.

While Nintendo consoles may traditionally be seen as being geared towards a younger audience, the likes of Red Dead Redemption and Cyberpunk: 2077 have come to the platform, so Battlefield 6 would not be an exception.

What EA Games Are Coming to Nintendo Switch 2?

A host of EA titles are coming to Nintendo Switch 2 this year, including Madden 26 and EA Sports FC 26.

While neither is directly tied to Battlefield 6, it does show that EA has a working relationship with Nintendo regarding releases, and there are other promising signs.

Previous releases on Switch have featured old-gen features, putting it in line with Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but Switch 2 will have the same features as Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 for the aforementioned EA Sports titles. Thus, it is considered a current-gen platform by EA.

That’s great news for hopes of Battlefield 6 arriving on Switch 2, as it shows EA is confident the platform has the capability to cope with the high-performance demands from their titles, although there are some big differences.

FPS titles usually demand more firepower from any system due to high numbers in multiplayer and demanding graphics, and there has never previously been a Battlefield release on a Nintendo console.

Similarly, Call of Duty titles have not released on Nintendo consoles since 2013’s Call of Duty: Ghosts on Wii U, though this means there may be a gap in the market.
