Battlefield 6 is set to be one of the biggest releases of the year, so it’s time to learn what platforms the EA title will be landing on.
Set for launch on October 10, Battlefield 6 is being pushed by a multi-million dollar creator campaign by EA, and anticipation is skyrocketing, and the reveal trailer raised excitement further.
Excitement isn’t surprising, considering the four-year wait since Battlefield 2042 and the major changes being pushed by EA for the franchise, and we’ve got details on whether the title is landing on your favorite platforms.
Can You Play Battlefield 6 on PS5?
Yes, Battlefield 6 will be available on PlayStation 5 at launch, the first time the franchise has launched solely on the platform without an old-gen version.
That means Battlefield 6 will not be available on PlayStation 4, with last-gen hardware being abandoned to allow development to focus on more action and bigger lobbies, without the restrictions of older hardware.
This is the first time a game in the Battlefield franchise will be exclusively on next-gen consoles, as EA takes a significant step forward into the next generation of gaming.
PlayStation 5 is expected to have a higher price-point than PC, however, with a €79.99 figure being touted for the Standard Edition on console.
Can You Play Battlefield 6 on Xbox Series X|S?
Yes, Battlefield 6 will be available on Xbox Series X|S, and, similarly to PlayStation, will be next-gen exclusive.
This means those with an Xbox One will not be able to play Battlefield 6 on the platform, further representing EA’s step into the next generation of gaming.
While it may be disappointing for some, it’s not too surprising given we’re now half a decade into the Xbox Series X|S era, and last-gen consoles have been supported for much longer than it was expected.
Just like PS5, the Xbox Series X|S Standard Edition is expected to be priced at €79.99, higher than the PC version.
Can You Play Battlefield 6 on PC?
Yes, Battlefield 6 will be available to play on PC, though it depends on your PC specs as the system requirements may be hefty for the title.
System Requirements will likely be higher than the recommended specs for Battlefield 2042, although the exact requirements have not yet been outlined.
There will likely be options if your PC cannot run Battlefield 6, however, through cloud play features offered by Microsoft and Sony, along with the likes of GeForce Now.
The Standard Edition of Battlefield 6 is expected to be cheaper on PC than console, with a €69.99 price.
