Killing Floor 3 Stress Test Asks You to Sign 5-Year NDA Two Weeks From Launch

Serious question marks are hanging over Killing Floor 3’s head after the shocking reveal that players were not allowed to capture any footage or take screenshots of its latest Stress Test. A five-year NDA had to be signed, and this close to launch, you’re probably thinking the same as me: Why wouldn’t you want people to see your game?

Killing Floor 3 was delayed back in March 2025. Tripwire Interactive said they intended to fix the game as it “missed the mark” in its previous state. This is fair enough, and the team has been making changes as the year has ticked on. Just before KF3’s release date, a final Stress test was announced.

Instead of giving the game one final showcase, it’s caused more problems.

Strict NDA Enforced For Killing Floor 3 Stress Test

The full nature of the nondisclosure agreement for Killing Floor 3’s recent Stress Test was revealed through the game’s subreddit.

You can only take part in the Stress Test if you sign the NDA. Doing so enables a particular clause: “Non-Use or Disclosure; Enforcement. For a period of five (5) years following the date of the execution of this Agreement.

This is particularly detrimental to streamers. They’re unable to show off gameplay, and it seemingly serves to benefit no one.

NDAs are typically required for press and media to not leak footage or shared details from upcoming work. This is fair enough. However, Killing Floor 3’s Stress Test arrived so close to launch, and it’s likely the final chance to show off the improvements and reworked game, and encourage us all to buy it.

The top comments highlight how someone ended up streaming the game on Twitch, was asked to stop by the developer, and was subsequently suspended. Five years is such an odd amount considering the game is out so soon. Your guess is as good as mine on that one.

It’s all quite peculiar, and the reception to the NDA hasn’t been positive: “The game comes out in 2 weeks and you can’t stream it… You’re an idiot to buy this,” said one user, whereas someone else added: “You Tripwire guys are shooting yourselves in the foot with this NDA nonsense. We gamers want to see the progress in this game, and you are stopping that. You wouldn’t be doing this NDA cr*p if you didn’t have faith in your product!”

Has Tripwire made a mistake with the NDA? Or are they right to protect their game? Let us know your full thoughts through the Insider Gaming forum.
