Borderlands 4 isn’t scheduled for release for another couple of months. Yet, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has made the strange move of showing off the complete Borderlands 4 map, and showing everyone where to find the game’s 200 Marcus Bobblehead Collectibles.
When Borderlands 4 was first announced, it was a good moment, but you couldn’t help but shake the feeling that it was going to be another Borderlands game. However, the latest sequel offers a connected open world, some of the hardest bosses in franchise history, and it’s looking to justify its game price.
The CEO’s latest update on the game is a curious one. In a lengthy social media thread, Pitchford discussed the game’s development and showcased the entire Borderlands 4 map, as well as the locations of new collectibles.

Borderlands 4 Map & POIs Revealed, Along With Bobblehead Collectibles

A July 13 Thread on X saw Randy Pitchford post twelve messages about Borderlands 4’s creation.
He discussed how the team “Designed a massive world and we committed ourselves to filling it!” and how the map has “Well over 200 Marcus Bobbleheads hidden around Kairos.”
These are special collectibles rewarding players for exploring every nook and cranny. If the level of detail and reveal of this information wasn’t enough, Pitchford attached a screenshot showing the full Borderlands 4 map and its POIs.
Crater, Beach, RIP Tunnels, and Order Hell are some of the named POIs in Borderlands 4. But if you want to collect the 200 Marcus Bobbleheads, the work has already been done for you. Pitchford’s map screenshot removes the middleman and shows every location.
All in all, there are well over 200 Marcus Bobbleheads hidden around Kairos. I expect most players will never see any of them. Some may find a few. A very, very small number of people will explore Kairos so completely that they might discover them all. Each has a story. 12/12
I find it a baffling action to make super-secret collectibles public knowledge already. Not everyone will see the social media post, sure, but now that it’s out there, you’d think people will be less inclined to search themselves.
What do you think? Are you happy Pitchford has shown where they all are to save you the trouble? Or is it an odd move to make? Get in touch and leave your thoughts through the Insider Gaming forum.
