Recently, it was discovered that the Asus ROG Xbox Ally price points might have been leaked by none other than Asus itself. In a screenshot that surfaced on social media, store listings were revealed through Google that may have uncovered the price for both the Asus ROG Xbox Ally and the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X.
The prices are higher than we expected if they’re accurate.
How Much Will The ROG Xbox Ally Cost?
If the report recently published by 3DJuegos is accurate, the Asus ROG Xbox Ally range could be about to break some banks.
In a screenshot grabbed from a localized Google search, it was suggested that the price points will work as follows:
- Asus ROG Xbox Ally X – €899
- Asus ROG Xbox Ally – €599
The prices were in Euros because of the localization aspect, given that 3DJuegos is a Spanish website.
Let’s assume that the prices for the ROG Xbox Ally range will be subject to conversion. That could mean that the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X will cost just north of USD 1000 and CAD 1,400. It’s a price tag of around GBP 800 and AUD 1,600.
By contrast, the ROG Ally X, released in 2024, emerged with a price tag of GBP 799. There was price parity of sorts, and the device cost USD 799.
It was expected that the Xbox partnership might have introduced some kind of subsidization, with Microsoft taking a hit on the cost to bring it down and make the device more accessible. It’s a pricey thing indeed, even if the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X is set to be a powerhouse of a handheld.
Would you buy the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X if it emerged with a price tag of $1000? Let me know your thoughts on the Insider Gaming forum.
