WWE NXT Champion Joe Hendry Reveals Indie Game He Plays Most

Joe Hendry is the current WWE NXT Champion. He’s also a viral star thanks to his earworm of a theme song and amusing antics, appearing whenever anyone says his name. However, like most WWE Superstars, Hendry is also a gamer. Now, he’s revealing his favorite indie game.

During an interview with Windows Central’s Jez Corden, Hendry revealed that he has a PC, a Steam Deck, an Xbox, and a PlayStation 5. However, with his busy road schedule, he doesn’t get much time to deep-dive into video games. When he does, the genre that he chooses might not be what you think of when you think of the comedic sports entertainer.

Joe Hendry Loves A City-Builder

Joe Hendry revealed that he enjoys city-building games. As such, when he has some free time, he will try to build the village in a game like Kingdoms and Castles.

He also revealed that his favorite indie game is They Are Billions. He calls the game “amazing” and says it’s the one he puts most of his time into.

“So for me, if I’m just by myself, I like city-building games. If I’ve got a spare 20 minutes, I’ll just build a village in Kingdoms and Castles or something like that. I love indie games like that. They Are Billions. That’s the game I’ve put the most time into. It can be super frustrating … one zombie gets through, and the whole thing’s gone. But yes, amazing game,” he said. He also revealed that he had been a big fan of Final Fantasy 7 and the Metal Gear series.

These days, Hendry has worked himself into a position where he will be playable in a video game. Joe Hendry is playable on day one as the pre-order bonus for the upcoming WWE 2K26 title. That game will launch on March 6 for those who pre-ordered premium editions. The game will launch globally on March 13.
