Season 3 of Marvel Rivals will release on Friday, July 11. As confirmed on X (formerly Twitter), the servers will be taken down for maintenance at 2am PT/4am CT/5am ET/10am BST/7pm AEST. Downtime is expected to last between two and three hours.

In a change in approach from previous seasons, Season 3 of Marvel Rivals will last for two months, whereas Season 1 and Season 2 were two months in length. Despite the shorter timeframe, there is no reduction in content being added in the season.

With the changes to the structure, the mid-season patch launching Season 3.5 is expected to take place on August 8, with Season 3 coming to a close four weeks later on September 5, the expected start date for Season 4. However, both dates are unconfirmed and are currently estimates.

The change in season length also means players can expect new characters to appear more frequently, debuting every four weeks on average. Previously, there was around a six-week gap between the drop of new characters.

What’s Coming in Marvel Rivals Season 3?

The highlight of Season 3’s launch is the debut of Jean Grey, aka Phoenix, as a new Duelist. She’s the latest X-Men character to be added to the game, joining the likes of Wolverine, Magik, Storm, and Emma Frost.

Phoenix will have two forms, a human form and a Phoenix form, the latter being used when her Ultimate is activated, and her kit features a unique mechanic with her Ultimate that removes any placed enemy summons, making her a good counter to the likes of Namor.

Season 3 also sees the launch of a new map on Klyntar, an area that has been in the game since launch. In the lore, the Guardians of the Galaxy’s trip to the home of the Symbiotes has awakened Knull, their God, who takes the position as the big bad in Season 3, supported by Hela.

The Season 3 Battle Pass features “Knullified” character costumes for the likes of Rocket Raccoon, Jeff the Land Shark, and Squirrel Girl, while other characters will receive a Phoenix Force skin to mark Phoenix’s arrival in the game.

Several cosmetic adjustments are also being made, allowing further customization to costumes, including tweaking color schemes and adding charms, and the season also marks the latest slew of balance tweaks to the roster of characters.

Four weeks later, when Season 3.5 launches, Blade will make a long-awaited debut in the game after being rescued from Dracula’s clutches in Season 1.
