Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 players have benefited from several updates over the course of the first year, bringing new content and experiences, and Saber Interactive has more planned for the next year.
Initially launched in September 2024, Space Marine 2 has enjoyed huge success, surpassing seven million sales, and has big plans for the second year of its lifespan.
A major update is planned for September to celebrate the game’s first birthday, which will mark the start of the second year of content in the title.
Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 Planned Updates

The first year of planned content for Space Marine 2 has come to an end, but in a community update, Saber Interactive confirmed a second year of both free and DLC content is on the way.
The tease told players to “expect more PvE missions, enemies, weapons, and more,” adding it’s too early to provide more info but to keep an eye out for community updates in July and August.
In the announcement, it was stated that a large-scale update is planned for September, the 10.0 update, and that the 9.0 update would not bring new content and will consist of balancing changes.
Release dates for both patches are yet to be revealed, though monthly updates usually occur towards the back end of the month, so expect that timeline to remain the same, unless stated otherwise.
Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 10.0 Update
Set for September, although not given a specific date yet, Saber Interactive has already confirmed three major additions to the game.
A new PvP mode initially planned to release in the 9.0 update has been delayed, now coming in the 10.0 update. The new mode takes place on a new map, puts Chaos up against Chaos, rather than Loyalists, and allows players to take control of the Helbrute. On top of this, new Chaos armours will be added to the game.
The 10.0 update will also bring a new weapon, the Power Axe, with its own moveset and execution animations. Finally, it was also announced that the new class coming to both PvE and PvP will be a Techmarine.
Further details on the new game mode, weapon, and class will be shared in the build-up to patch 10.0 in September, and we can expect to see more teases of what lies ahead for Space Marine 2 in the next year in the coming months.
