Blood Message Unveiled by NetEase As Company’s First Single-Player Game

NetEase has announced its first ‘completely single-player focused experience’, Blood Message. In a recent five-minute video, the team unveiled a jaw-dropping, narrative-driven game built on the foundations of over twenty years of experience at NetEase. It has been explained that Blood Message blends ‘brutal survival combat with profound Eastern storytelling.’

In a release published by NetEase, it was stated that Blood Message will feature a mix of stealth and survival mechanics and will lean on ‘a deeply emotional journey’ to keep players invested.

‘Step Into The Shoes of Unsung Heroes’

The first trailer for Blood Message is nothing short of awe-inspiring, offering users a mix of gameplay and pre-rendered sequences to showcase exactly what to expect from NetEase’s first AAA single-player game.

Here is your first look at Blood Message:

NetEase offered a phenomenal blurb for the game:

Blood Message introduces a forgotten odyssey of loyalty and survival where players join Dunhuang’s uprising, taking control of a nameless messenger and his young son in this immersive third-person action-adventure. Caught in the crossfire of a righteous uprising and driven by loyalty to both family and country, players will embark on a perilous eastward journey to deliver a message that holds the fate of their war-torn homeland. Amidst the shifting sands of history, they will etch a final tale of loyalty.

It has already been promised that Blood Message will be linear, but will also feature ‘expansive landscapes’. It’s also not looking like a Soulslike title, which suits me perfectly.

Blood Message is in development now under the Thunder Fire Studio label for PC and console, but it hasn’t been confirmed which consoles, nor when it might be released.

Does Blood Message look like your kind of game? Let me know what you think on the Insider Gaming forum.
