Borderlands 4 is set to release on September 12, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store; however, it will not be available on the Switch 2 at launch.
Borderlands 4 revealed a wealth of information today, including pricing and plans for a DLC. The game is priced at $70, which is lower than the $80 price tag suggested by comments from Randy Pitchford. Additionally, the pricing and DLC announcement also informed us about Borderlands 4’s Switch 2 version.
Borderlands 4 Switch 2 Version Not Available at Launch
Spotted by MyNintendoNews, the Borderlands 4 website has updated its FAQs page to inform players about the Switch 2 version. In this section, the developers have confirmed that Borderlands 4 will “come to Nintendo Switch 2 later in 2025”, and more information about this version will be provided at a later date. Borderlands 3 also launched on the Nintendo Switch later, releasing for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019 and launching a Switch version 4 years later in 2023.
Borderlands 4 is the latest instalment of Gearbox’s highly popular mayhem-fueled looter shooter. The upcoming title takes players to a new planet, with a fresh and even more outrageous arsenal. Players can try out new traversal mechanics and unique abilities. This time around, the game has been built from the ground up with co-op in mind, allowing players to hunt for loot, tackle missions and explore together freely. Players will also find fewer borders and more lands to explore this time.
