A significant update lands in Minecraft tomorrow, providing the biggest visual overhaul in recent years alongside the long-awaited addition of the Happy Ghast mob.
Releasing June 17 on the Bedrock edition Minecraft, the ‘Chase the Skies‘ update features plenty of additions to the fan-favorite title, ranging from new blocks and mobs to new craftable items.
The Happy Ghast is not the only Ghast being added to the game, with a new Dried Ghast block appearing in the Nether, though they’re also craftable using Ghast Tears and Soul Sand.
Placing the Dried Ghast block in water transforms it into a Ghastling, which, over time, grows into a Happy Ghast when fed a regular supply of snowballs.

Plenty of New Additions
For those playing alongside friends, the new player locator bar highlights the location of other players, making it much easier to track them down, while Leads are easier to craft and can be attached to more things.
Another major change is that Saddles are now craftable, meaning you won’t face a hefty grind to add some drip to your trusty steed, which can also be applied to a Happy Ghast—the perfect form of transport to enjoy the new visual updates.
The Bedrock update includes the Vibrant Visuals, which add reflective sunlight on the surface of water, shifting shadows, and fresh textures for your favorite environments.
In future, Mojang’s plan is to add the Vibrant Visuals update to Java versions of Minecraft, allowing more players to experience the gorgeous transformation.
