Between the new Joy-Con 2 controllers and the updated Pro controller, you have different options to enjoy Nintendo Switch 2 games. One method we didn’t see coming was the ability to play Switch 2 games using a PS5 DualSense controller—but it’s happening.
The new Joy-Con 2 controllers are susceptible to hardware malfunctions, hence why Nintendo is offering free replacements for them. When they work, they’re exceptional. But if you need another controller for an extra player, and you don’t want to shell out for new accessories, there might be a cheaper way if you’re a PS5 owner.
Use a PS5 Controller to Play on Your Nintendo Switch 2

GamesRadar has reported that you can use your PS5 DualSense controller for the Switch 2 if you use a GameCube controller adapter.
“To actually pair a DualSense with the Switch using the MayFlash GameCube adapter, you will need a dongle to plug into its controller ports. Specifically, you’ll want to pick up an 8BitDo Bluetooth Retro Receiver for NGC, as the gadget will act as a wireless bridge and let you sync the PS5 pad and plenty of other Nintendo Switch controllers and alternatives,” writes Phil Hayton.
You can pick up one of these dongles for between $20-25, and this is considerably cheaper than forking out for new Joy-Con 2 controllers or a Pro Controller.
Other adapters are available that can do the same job: So you don’t specifically need the GameCube 8BitDo Bluetooth Retro Receiver. Will you be taking advantage of this incredible revelation? Let us know via the Insider Gaming forum.
