10 years after an initial release, Witcher 3 fans will be treated to “one more patch” with the addition of cross-platform mod support, which makes them “easier and more accessible.”
CD Projekt Red’s celebrated its 10th anniversary on May 18, marking a decade since the Game of the Year victory for the title, and plenty of upgrades and patches have taken place since.
Fans are eagerly awaiting The Witcher 4, which debuted its first trailer at The Game Awards last year, though the game’s release will not be before 2027.
Fans of the franchise will be pleased to know that cross-platform mod support is coming to Witcher 3 later this year. While more details will be revealed closer to the release date, some specifics have already been outlined.
The announcement stated players on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S will “share a modding ecosystem,” with many of the mods already prevalent on PC expected to make the jump to console, although the floodgates won’t open fully.

CD Projekt Red said “that”due to specific content guidelines and selection criteria,” some mods on PC may not be able to make the jump across to console, while those on console won’t be able to create mods of their own.
The news comes ahead of a big week for the developer, with Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition set to be one of the first titles available on Nintendo Switch 2, and the company are confirmed to be in attendance for Summer Games Fest.
Though we could hear some news about the next Witcher 3 update or the next game in the series, expect the Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk 2077 to dominate the agenda.
