Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Receives Official Mod Support, Fishing Mini-Game Possible

Modding has been quite restricted in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 to this point; however, the game’s director has informed the player base that full mod support is now available to create what you want.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is one of the franchise’s best-selling titles. Its linear, old-school third-person shooter gameplay feels ripped from a bygone era. I’d go as far as saying we need more shooters like this. Saber Interactive did a great job, and the developer earmarked plans for mod support.

The day has finally come for Space Marines to become architects and visionaries.

The game’s director—Dmitry Grigorenko—gave a statement to the Space Marine 2 Modding Hub Discord.

“Today marks our biggest milestone yet in supporting the modding community. Even the model exporter and 12-player co-op ops pale in comparison — because as of today, we’re releasing the official Integration Studio for public use. This is the exact same editor we use internally for all gameplay development. No more editing files in Notepad and praying you didn’t miss a bracket — Integration Studio makes editing anything SSL-related ten times faster, safer, and more intuitive,” he said.

Modding to this point has been fairly limited. However, this gives players full access to the game’s modding potential. Dmitry also says: “We’re excited to see what you build next — whether it’s a cinematic campaign, wild new game mode, or something we never saw coming.”

The director also shared details of a “Fishing With Daddy Calgar” minigame, featuring very preliminary artwork.

What will you build with Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 mod access? Do you think this can keep the community going until Space Marines 3? Let us know through the Insider Gaming forum.
