REPO is still turning heads worldwide, sitting ever-so-slightly outside the top ten most-played games on Steam. As I write this article, the title has 100,000 players, which is fully representative of the game’s popularity.
The game’s first major update has been pulled into play by Semiwork Studios, the team that turned down sleep and gave their all to making REPO one of the most popular games in the world. However, if you want to access the first REPO update, you’ll need to tick a few boxes.
How to Access First REPO Update
REPO (or R.E.P.O.) is one of those online survival horror titles that are doing so well at the moment. It’s a cooperative game that requires players to enter various locations, remove various items, and escape again before being chased down and eliminated by an array of monsters.
It’s a humorous and at times terrifying game that leans on great physics and proximity chat to promote hilarious and entertaining situations.
The first major update for REPO is available now, but only for those accessing the beta branch on Steam.
How do you get into the first REPO update?
- Launch Steam
- Find REPO in your library
- Right click and hit ‘Properties’
- Click on and open the ‘Betas’ menu
- Switch the option from ‘None’ to ‘Beta’
Once you’ve ticked those boxes, you’ll have access to the open beta version of REPO, which includes the free major update.
The goal is for Semiwork to gather feedback on the update before rolling it out to the main audience. That’s what Semiworks’ Pontus Sundstrom alluded to in a statement:
You guys can finalize the first update by providing us with feedback. If you find any bugs or glitches while playing, or if you have any general feedback, you can address such things on the official REPO Discord. We are so thankful for this amazing community and we want to involve you guys directly wherever we can.
Are you going to jump in and play the REPO update in the Steam beta system? Let me know in the comments or on the Insider Gaming forum.
