Fortnite’s Chapter 6 Season 3, Galactic Battle, drops tomorrow, and we know what to expect regarding new weapons, aerial combat, POIs and more ahead of the release. Also, Lightsabers and Force abilities are returning.
What are the New POIs in Fortnite Galactic Battle?
With Star Wars taking over Fortnite Island, players will see several locations revamped or introduced in accordance with the Galactic Battle theme. First up is the First Order Base, a new POI located at the top right of the map, which serves not only as a base of operations but also features a hangar for repairing damaged First Order TIE Fighters (yes, you can fly them).
Next up for Fortnite’s Galactic Battle season is the Outpost Enclave, a hub for smuggler activity. Then we have the Resistance Base, where you will find the X-Wing and some valuable tools to face off against the First Order. Last but not least is Vader Samurai’s Solitude. Darth Vader Samurai invades and captures Shogun’s Solitude to make it his personal fortress.
Fortnite Galactic Battle Returning and New Weapons
Lightsabers and Force Abilities
Firstly, Lightsabers are returning along with Force abilities in the upcoming Fortnite season. Players can train with hologram Rey to learn Force Push and receive a Blue Lightsaber. Training with Emperor Palpatine will teach you Force Lighting and provide you with a Red Lightsaber. Defeating Darth Vader Samurai will give you a different red colour Lightsaber and teach you the Force Saber Throw. This ability turns your Lightsaber into a plasma boomerang.
Moreover, on May 8, Mace Windu and Lord Darth Maul will join the fray with new lightsabers and Force abilities. Windu will provide a Purple Lightsaber with Force Pull abilities. Darth Maul will offer another red lightsaber and teach you to use Force Throw. Players must have lightsabers equipped to use Force Abilities. However, the abilities are tied to the players and not the Lightsaber.
New Blasters for Fortnite Galactic Battle
There are a bunch of non-lightsaber weapons to try out in Fortnite’s Galactic Battle season, with some completely new Blasters and others unvaulted from previous seasons. Check out the entire list of the new Fortnite Star Wars blasters below:
- Reliable DL-44 Blaster Pistol
- Heavy CR-2 Blaster (an SMG!)
- Close-range ACP Scatter Blaster and BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster
- Close-to-medium range DLT-19 Blaster Rifle
- Long-range IQA-11 Marksman Blaster Rifle
- All-purpose A280-CFE Blaster Rifle
- Highly accurate DC-15 Heavy Blaster Rifle (Unvaulted)
- Empire Standard Issue E-11 Blaster (Unvaulted)
- First Order standard issue F-11 Blaster (Unvaulted)
Fortnite players will also have access to the Thermal Imploder, which is a throwable compression vacuum that causes massive damage to nearby structures. Also, defeating Captain Phasma at the First Order Base will reward you with Mythic Captain Phasma’s F-11D Blaster and Phasma’s Blaster Medallion.
Fortnite Galactic Battle Season Lets You Pilot TIE Fighters and X-Wings
In the new Fortnite season, players can take the battle to the skies with new aerial warfare vehicles. First up would be the Imperial TIE Fighters, a single-passenger aircraft loaded with high-powered blasters. Next up is the iconic X-Wing, which is not only quick to cover a lot of distance but can also use laser cannons to keep enemies at bay.
Chewbacca and Mandalorians Join Fortnite Galactic Battle
On May 15, Chewbacca will land on the island along with the Wookiee Bowcaster and the CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster. These are new weapons that can be found across chests on the island.
On May 22, players will see Mandalorian join Fortnite’s Galactic Battle, where they can recruit a Heavy, Scout, Supply, or Medic Mandalorian for their team. They will also receive the Mandalorian Jetpack, which has been unvaulted for this season, along with the Amban Sniper Rifle. The new dual-wield WESTAR-34 Blaster Pistols will arrive with the Mandalorians, too.
Fortnite Galactic Battle Introduces the Star Destroyer
On May 29, Fortnite players can showcase incomprehensible power with Star Destroyer landing on the island. A single portal to the Star Destroyer’s control room will spawn every match, and if you can reach it first, the Capital Ship is yours to use to wreak havoc all across the island. Also, an in-game narrative event called Galactic Battle V: Death Star Sabotage will arrive in Fortnite on June 7.
