Oblivion Remastered Lets You Romance Todd Howard

Oblivion Remastered still features an appearance from the game director, Todd Howard, and players can interact with him and even romance him.

Oblivion Remastered’s Todd Howard Cameo Returns

According to a report by PC Gamer (via The Gamer), players will not find Todd Howard randomly somewhere in the open world in Oblivion Remastered. Instead, they need to use console commands to summon the game director in the game. Howard was involved in voice and dialogue testing for characters during the development of the original title, but he was not used as an official character and was subsequently locked away in the game files.

How to Summon Todd Howard in Oblivion Remastered

To summon Todd Howard in Oblivion Remastered, players must bring up the console by pressing ‘~’ on their keyboard and typing ‘coc toddtest’. It is worth noting that players should save the game before starting this process. Once they have used the designated console command, the player will be teleported to a test room, where they will find a character called Alban Corinis.

So Alban Corinis is voiced by Todd Howard, but not entirely. As pointed out in the report, the man clad in elven armour first responds in mostly Wes Johnson’s voice. After that, players can access several conversational topics, which feature emotions like “Angry, Fear, Happy, Neutral, Sad, and Surprise.”

After clicking any of these emotional topics, players will get a response from Todd Howard matching that emotion. For example, if you pick fear, Howard says, “Oh no. What do we do? I’m so scared”, timidly. In anger, he says, “What! That Pissed me off!”. For sad, Howard says, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know”. Players can have a look at Todd Howard’s voice acting in the video embedded below by Uzis.

How To Romance Todd Howard

The report explains how to romance Todd Howard too. First, players must pick the ‘happy’ conversational topic several times until their disposition crosses 90. Once that is done, choose the ‘neutral’ conversational topic, and Howard will confess his love for you, stating, “I can’t recall ever loving moments, like this moment, with you.”

Players can also annoy Todd Howard and be called a ‘bastard’ by him in Oblivion Remastered. Click ‘angry’ until his character disposition falls under 20, and then click ‘neutral’ again. Howard will respond, stating, “You are indeed a bastard.”

In other news, Todd Howard mentioned Elder Scrolls 6 recently. Additionally, the Obli reached 4 million players in just 5 days. What are your thoughts on Todd Howard’s cameo in Oblivion Remastered? Let us know in the comments or on our new community forum!
