Facing the bosses in Elden Ring is every gamer’s worst nightmare as they don’t just break your will to continue, they also break your controllers, leaving you with shattered buttons and dreams. Their meticulously designed attack patterns and unpredictable behavior make them terrifying foes. With there being over 200 of them in the game, today, we’ll be counting down the hardest bosses in Elden Ring that will have you question your sanity.
Hardest Bosses in Elden Ring, Ranked
Everyone has their own experience of difficulty while playing, especially in Elden Ring. If the following list doesn’t mention the boss that drove you nuts, let us know which one did in the comments at the end.
5. Tree Sentinel
The Tree Sentinel offers a sly introduction to Elden Ring’s unforgiving nature, making it apparent fairly early on in the game. It’s safe to say that most, if not all, players underestimated the Tree Sentinel at first glance and proceeded to get dismantled by its devastating attacks.
Fighting it at level 1 is a humbling experience, even for seasoned FromSoftware players, and ultimately, this monster forces you to flee the battlefield in search of means to win.

4. Maliketh, The Black Blade
This savage beast will tear you to shreds with its fearsome claws and the many combos it can do with them. Maliketh then mixes those in with dagger assaults that will keep you sweating throughout the relentless battle.
And just when you think it’s over, he transitions into phase 2 and mercilessly starts slashing at you with absolutely broken strikes – the range on them is simply unfair.
Additionally, the ranged fire attacks are very tricky to dodge but what makes things worse is the fact that they not only burn your health but also reduce your maximum HP. Maliketh’s an absolute pain to deal with and he easily ranks as one of the hardest bosses in Elden Ring.
3. Radagon of the Golden Order
This deadly encounter serves as one of the hardest Elden Ring boss fights and a fitting grand finale for FromSoftware’s masterpiece. Radagon can attack at any range, and because of that, openings to attack him are tough to get. His ability to teleport combined with his deadly mix-up of combos will keep you on your toes throughout the intense fight.
Only through skillful evasion and proper reads will players be able to get hits in, which if you fail to perform, will land you victim to his tremendous blows which shattered the Elden Ring itself. Oh, and this boss fight also has a second phase that I didn’t even mention.

2. Godskin Duo
What’s harder than fighting an Elden Ring boss? Fighting two of them at the same time of course. The Godskin Duo will have you fighting for your life for a long time considering their criminally large health bar. The seamless coordination between their AI creates a fierce and unpredictable onslaught, leaving little room for error.
Both boast many strengths and few weaknesses. Add on the fact that you constantly have to adjust your playstyle during the battle because of their unique movesets, this can easily become an overwhelming boss fight real quick.
1. Malenia, Goddess of Rot
Malenia stands as a testament to Elden Ring’s brutal nature. She embodies a perfect blend of elegance and lethality as her precise attacks require patience and skill only few can achieve. The life-steal mechanic allows her to heal a chunk of her health every time she lands a hit on you.
Coupled with her ability to quickly close gaps and unleash brutal combos, she’s every Soulslike fan’s worst nightmare. Her two phase boss fight is the ultimate test of skill for players who love a challenge as it’ll require immense power and a hundred or more tries until you can finally say goodbye to that torturous “You Died” screen.
