5 Best Games on Xbox Game Pass This Month

Xbox Game Pass is one of the best values for money in gaming, with over 300 games being accessible for one small monthly fee. All of Microsoft’s first and second-party games are released on the service on day one, as well as hundreds of popular third-party AAA and indie releases. With the list of Xbox Game Pass gaming ever-changing, here are the five best games you need to play this month.

5. Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite served as a launch title for the Xbox Series X and brought Microsoft’s flagship IP to the next generation. The campaign is more open-world compared to previous entries, allowing for a lot of freedom to traverse the map and complete side-missions in between the more linear campaign, but it is a very enjoyable experience and one I’ve gone back to multiple times. If you’re more of a fan of multiplayer, it was released as a free-to-play experience so you can enjoy it with or without Xbox Game Pass.

4. Forza Horizon 5

Forza Motorsport 8 launched earlier this month and despite a lot of anticipation from fans of the series, it unfortunately failed to deliver. The game is filled with issues, missing key features, there is a lot of grinding, and simply just isn’t that enjoyable. Hopefully, that changes in the future with updates, but thankfully a much better entry in the series is available to play in Forza Horizon 5. The Horizon series is a more arcade open-world style game as opposed to a racing simulator, but it is one of the best racing games to ever be released and it is available to play on Xbox Game Pass. However, if you really enjoy it then it could be a good worth purchasing as Forza games tend to be delisted after a few years due to licenses expiring.

3. Dead Space Remake

Dead Space Remake is the most recent addition to this list, with it being added to Xbox Game Pass on October 26th. The game launched earlier this year and although it is more a remaster than a remake, despite being rebuilt from the ground up, it does bring Dead Space into the modern age in terms of graphics and quality-of-life changes to the gameplay to make for a more enjoyable experience. There’s no reason to not choose the remake over the original and this is now the definitive version of the game.

2. Lies of P

Lies of P could be the most underrated and surprising hit of 2023. Although not created by FromSoftware, Lies of P is a Souls-like game inspired by Carlo Collodi’s novel The Adventures of Pinocchio, which offers a unique take on the story and genre. If you’re a fan of games such as Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne, this is a game that you need to check out.

1. Starfield

Starfield is one of the most highly anticipated games to be released in recent times and it finally launched in September 2023, taking the classic formula of games such as The Elder Scrolls and Fallout and taking it into outer space. Bethesda really struck gold with Starfield, with it being the best-selling game of September 2023 and reaching over 10 million players within its first two weeks. With Bethesda now being owned by Microsoft, Starfield launched on Game Pass on day one and it won’t be leaving the service, which is good because it is an incredibly long game.
