Arc System Works revealed Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls during the Sony State of Play Showcase, with the title landing on PlayStation 5 and PC in 2026.
The 4v4 tag-team brawler is an entirely new type of game under the Marvel IP banner, with the trailer showcasing iconic characters including Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man, Star-Lord, Ghost Rider, Storm, Captain America, and more.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a 2D brawler with the vision of “bringing Marvel back to the forefront of the tag-fighting genre,” and the first trailer was action-packed with combat.
Easter Eggs Galore
While the heroes and villains you know and love are present in the game, Arc System Works looks to be putting their spin on each character with different styles, while the voices in the trailer were all Japanese.
For example, Iron Man has a distinct Japanese design with mech-like elements that would fit right into an anime, with a similar approach to Ms. Marvel and Doctor Doom.
A behind-the-scenes look at the title also showed a triceratops, while the background of the arenas are jam-packed with easter eggs for Marvel fans to digest, including Foggy Nelson’s law office, Damage Control, and an interdimensional monster that appears to have been slayed by Doctor Strage.
The announcement continues PlayStation’s strong relationship with Marvel following the success of the Spider-Man series from Insomniac, who are also at the helm of a Wolverine title.
