The 2026 Asian Games Esports Finals: PUBG Mobile will get underway as 12 of the region’s best teams arrive at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, Japan, as part of the 20th Asian Games Esports Events.
From September 28th-29th, PUBG Mobile esports’ fiercest elite in the region will battle it out for gold as part of the region-defining Asian Games.
2026 Asian Games Esports Finals: PUBG Mobile Teams, Dates, and Format
Eight teams for the 12-team event were decided in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, at the 2026 Asian Games Esports Qualifiers: PUBG Mobile.
Following an intense three-day competition, Team Pakistan topped the table, guaranteeing their spot as the first of eight qualifiers. Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Jordan, Uzbekistan, Myanmar, and Malaysia also took those coveted spots.
They joined the medalists from the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games: China, Republic of Korea, and Chinese Taipei, while hosts Team Japan complete the field as the 12th and final entrant.
The 12 qualified teams for the PUBG Mobile 2026 Asian Games Esports Finals are:
- Team Japan – Host Nation
- Team China
- Team Republic of Korea
- Team Chinese Taipei
- Team Vietnam
- Team Thailand
- Team Malaysia
- Team Indonesia
- Team Myanmar
- Team Uzbekistan
- Team Jordan
- Team Pakistan
Heading into the Final, these 12 teams will compete across two competition days, with six matches each day.
The first four matches will be held on Erangel whilst Miramar will be the location for the remaining two matches on both days.
Rankings are to be determined by the combination of placement and elimination points accumulated across both days.
Returning PUBG Mobile the sole Battle Royale representative at Asian Games 2026
The appearance of the esports in the 2026 Asian Games is a significant step for the PUBG Mobile esport. The tournament is the second time it will feature as an official medal event at the Asian Games following its debut at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, a return which underlines PUBG MOBILE Esports’ status as one of the region’s most-played, most-watched competitive titles.
Indeed, PUBG Mobile was the second most-watched esports title at the Esports World Cup 2026, beating titles like League of Legends, Counter-Strike, and Rocket League by peak viewership.
Additionally, it is the most widely represented esports title among all esports events, with 27 National Olympic Committee participants competing across the tournament stages.
Adding to the significance of this event, PUBG Mobile stands as the only battle-royale title present at this year’s Asian Games, with titles like Apex Legends and Call of Duty Warzone not chosen.
For the players, it’s a chance to represent on the continental stage. Reigning champions Team China will look to defend their Gold medal, while Team Pakistan arrive full of confidence after their Qualifiers Finals triumph, and host nation Team Japan will hope that home advantage inspires a run for the podium.
With medals, national pride and a place in PUBG MOBILE Esports history all on the line, all roads lead to Aichi-Nagoya on September 28th–29th.
