ZERO Sievert 2 Hits 100,000 Wishlists in Two Weeks

Two weeks ago, a studio called Underdog unveiled ZERO Sievert 2, a post-apocalyptic PvE extraction title set to follow the first game, released in 2022. In a new video walking through the team, it was confirmed that a whopping 100,000 wishlist spots have been secured by ZERO Sievert 2 since it was unveiled early in May.

ZERO Sievert 2 looks quite different from the first game, but it’s a hugely upgraded undertaking. A single developer pieced together ZERO Sievert back then, and the game ultimately earned one million dollars in a single week after launching in early access in 2022.

ZERO Sievert 2 is Looking Better Than Ever

Zero Sievert was assembled by a solo developer, Luca Carbonara, under a label called CABO Studio. The game was picked up by Modern Wolf from a publishing perspective, and it became a commercial hit. As a single-player extraction shooter with a pixel art palette, ZERO Sievert emerged as a niche title, but it still went on to sell hundreds of thousands of copies.

In a new video uploaded by the team at Underdog (in association with CABO and Modern Wolf), the excitement around the creation of this sequel, which introduces all-new visuals and cooperative play, was front and centre:

The team recently jumped into an AMA on Reddit, answering the most pressing questions from the community that flocked to the first game. It was confirmed that ZS2 will be set several years after ZS1, and a long-term goal is to port the game to consoles, adding controller support and making it run smoothly on Steam Deck.

It was also confirmed that the game map, set in the fictional world of ‘Zakov’, is still being sized up, but it’s being made a lot more open and seamless, especially when it comes to transitioning between interior and exterior locations. It was also said that ‘all the weapons’ from ZS1 will be making a comeback.

The key selling points and upgrades to ZERO Sievert 2 are tangible on the game’s Steam page. We’re looking at a more dynamic world that suffers under the weight of changing conditions, more in-depth skill paths, better weapon customization, and refreshed base-building mechanics.

It will also be constructed with ‘modding in mind from the start.’
