An alleged Gamestop employee has claimed that the new Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom OLED Switch will be revealed today as a part of the Nintendo Direct showcase.
The Reddit user, named SecretSantaSeven posted a couple of pictures on the platform showing that a new SKU will be available later today. Unfortunately, though, the images did not show any official release date and only a placeholder of 12/31/2023.
The Zelda OLED has been an open secret for some time, and the new edition being revealed today does make a lot of sense. Images of the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom OLED first appeared online in December, and in February, a Collector’s Edition also leaked online.
Nintendo will be streaming its Nintendo Direct today at 7AM PT / 11AM ET / 3PM BST which will show off 10 minutes of new Tears of the Kingdom gameplay.
A teaser trailer for Tears of the Kingdom was first aired during E3 2019, a full reveal was aired at E3 2021, and the game’s title was revealed during a September 2022 Nintendo Direct. While Tears of the Kingdom was initially planned for release in 2022, it is currently scheduled for release on May 12, 2023
