Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has commented on his surprise inclusion in WWE 2K26, saying he deserved the lukewarm, at best, and puzzled response the news received. He does, however, also say that players should not expect to see him included in GTA 6.
Far from a professional wrestler, his inclusion was shadow-dropped and featured an exclusive entrance animation and Frank Sinatra’s My Way as his theme song, which was also exclusive to him and could not be used for custom characters in the game. Now, he’s confirming that he asked for the inclusion himself.

Why Take-Two’s CEO Appears in WWE 2K26

Strauss Zelnick explains why he joined WWE 2K26: he loves WWE, asked for the role, and thought the cameo would amuse fans. He said as much during a recent interview with IGN.
“How it came about? I asked,” he said. “I wish I could say that there was huge popular demand internally and externally, but that would be a lie. I asked, and then I went on the soundstage, and I did motion capture, and we all had fun with it. But no, this was a rare moment where I said, ‘I think this would be fun. Let’s do this.’ And everyone’s like, ‘Okay.’”
“I love the title, and I loved WWE, and I thought it would be funny for insiders and maybe fun for some consumers,” he explained.
There you have it. Sometimes all you have to do is ask. He did, however, confirm that he will not be appearing in GTA 6, immediately shutting down the idea.
