Who genuinely wants to travel across the entire world on foot? In the Grasslands, you’ll gain access to your first Chocobo — Piko. But there’s a catch! You must first track down the missing Chocobo and wrangle him, but the tracking part proves most challenging. Here is where you can find Piko in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth!
How to Complete Tracing the Tracks in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
To complete Tracing the Tracks, follow the missing Chocobo’s tracks in the mud outside Bill’s Chocobo Ranch, then tame Piko. To find Piko’s tracks in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, leave the barn and head down the dirt path to the front gate of Bill’s Ranch. You’ll spot large, almost dinosaur-like bird tracks just outside the entrance.
The tracks turn immediately left down the dirt path, continue along for some time into the woods, and then turn right down the fork in the path. If you continue following this right-hand path, noting the slowly diminishing tracks in the mud, you’ll inevitably stumble upon a clearing with patches of yellow wildflowers and three Chocobo. The one on the far side is Piko.
Once you enter the clearing, a short cutscene will play out in which the party discusses sneaking up, but certainly not killing, Piko. It’s here that the minigame to catch your first Chocobo begins, so move carefully and quietly to wrangle your mount!
