Ubisoft has released the 1.0.5 patch for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, adding a bunch of quests, new parkour mechanics, and activating the Dead by Daylight collaboration event. The team has also added a unique Balatro Trinket as part of an exclusive crossover, but it’s not obvious what you need to do to obtain it.
In this snapshot guide, I’ll teach you how to get the Balatro Trinket in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
How to Get Winning Hand Trinket in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
In the patch notes for 1.0.5, Ubisoft revealed that a Balatro Trinket was being added to the game, but it neglected to tell players where to find the cameo item. Fortunately, I’m here to tell you where to find the Balatro Trinket, known as Winning Hand, in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
To unlock the Balatro Trinket, you’ll need to travel to find five Port Traders in the open-world map of Japan. Once you’ve found them, you’ll need to secure cards that belong to a set of tensho karuta, which are based on Portuguese playing cards.
It’ll cost you 100 Mon for each trading card, so you shouldn’t have to worry about it being too taxing to find the Balatro Trinket in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Once you’ve got the Winning Hand Trinket, you’ll gain the following legendary effect:
20% chance to trigger a random Afflication on Combo Ender.
It’s admittedly not the best bonus effect, but it’s a nice nod to a game that has been hugely transformative and massively popular since it was released. It’s tough to see where the crossover exists, but I’m here for it – it’s heartwarming to see Balatro recognised by these titans.
