Marvel Rivals continues to roll out new content, and we’re officially at the halfway point of Season 9, as Season 9.5 is on the horizon. To mark the occasion, the servers are being shut down on August 7, as updates roll out across the board.
Season 9 was the big one, as it introduced the Team-Up overhaul that shook up the game’s core. Don’t expect an update as big this time around, but there is still the addition of a new Vanguard, The Hood, as well as a host of events and cosmetics.
If you’re desperate to get back into Marvel Rivals, here’s when the servers are down and when you can expect them to return.
When Will Marvel Rivals Servers Be Back Up?

Marvel Rivals servers are shutting down on August 7 at 2 AM PT, and they’re expected to be down for roughly two hours.
That means you can expect the servers to pop back up and Season 9.5 to begin at roughly 4 AM PT, though NetEase has made it clear that server return times can vary based on maintenance progress, so don’t take this as gospel.
That said, it’s been a pretty reliable process in the past, so barring an unusual outcome, you should only need to be away from Marvel Rivals for around two hours.
If you’re not from the West Coast and want to know how the maintenance impacts you, you’re in luck, as we’ve broken down the timings for a variety of different time zones, as seen in the table below:

What’s In The Marvel Rivals August 7 Update?

There’s plenty to unpack from the August 7 update, as it marks the beginning of Season 9.5 in Marvel Rivals.
It’s back to regular scheduling with Season 9.5, as the standout addition is the arrival of The Hood, a new Vanguard who is bound to impact the meta in tons of interesting ways.
Of course, aside from his arrival, expect a host of new cosmetics and events to sink your teeth into, including a new wave of Summer Swimsuit Special skins. With fan favorites like Black Cat and Storm getting ready for the beach, expect to see their new skins on the regular.
As for the lore, it looks like the murder mystery surrounding Apocalypse is coming to a close, as a God-killer seems to be on the loose. The final Gallery Card of the Season hints at what to expect from Season 10, and it looks like the character leaks very well may be true…
