If you were one of the many who couldn’t wait for Skull and Bones on Steam, well, you’re not alone. I was among the many playing the game on Ubisoft Connect, though I prefer to have my entire game library on one platform. That said, if you were wise enough to wait, it’s nearly over. Skull and Bones is launching on Steam this summer. Here’s what you should know!
When is the Skull and Bones Steam Release Date?
You don’t have to wait too much longer to play Skull and Bones on Steam. The pirate action-adventure game from Ubisoft launches on the digital platform on August 22. Thankfully, we’re less than one month away from the launch outside Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store.
As of right now, the Steam version of the game does not have a price tag. However, if it’s anything like past Ubisoft titles that inevitably launch on Valve’s digital storefront, it will do so with a sizeable discount on day one.
For instance, when Ghost Recon Breakpoint and The Division 2 were finally released on Steam, I was able to score them for under $20 apiece.

Is There Anything New in the Skull and Bones Steam Version?
There does not appear to be anything new or unique in the Steam launch. As the game has never received any expansions, only a handful of content updates and seasonal launches will be launched alongside the game on Steam. Still, there’s no unique, Steam-exclusive content available.
If you purchase the game on Steam, you must still connect to Ubisoft Connect via a third-party launcher after booting up the game, and it will connect and sync should you already own the game on the other platform.
