Laps Games has just revealed a new early access trailer for Valorborn, a medieval fantasy RPG with an ever-evolving world. This revelation came hand-in-hand with a new trailer during the Insider Gaming Showcase, marking it as one of the few games in the presentation that you can actively play right now.
Valorborn was released in early access on Steam on April 15th, dropping players everywhere into an open-ended, breathing world and giving them complete control of their character, build, and exploration model.
What is Valorborn?
Valorborn is an open-world medieval sandbox RPG, and it allows players to craft a full-fledged life for themselves in a world torn apart by warring factions. As a survival game, Valorborn encourages players to craft, build, and salvage what they need to survive, assuring them that, whether or not they are present, the world will continue to grow and evolve.
It’s a ‘living world simulation’ that assigns a routine to every character, with Laps Games having fleshed out this thriving environment in which every building, cave, and point of interest can be entered, explored, and built upon.
Players must lean on a range of typical actions and activities to level up and expand their character, deciding what kind of life they’ll make for themselves, and permadeath is a staple of the game, so if that life is a brutal one, it might end very swiftly.

Truly Open-Ended Potential
In Valorborn, you can become a rotten thief, a powerful sellsword, or a wily hunter, picking the path you want to take and fleshing out your character until the point where they succumb to the world. How long you survive is decided by how you approach the game. Every location can be entered, building potential is sky-high, customization is limitless, and the world grows via player decisions and interactions.
Solo or Party Play
Valorborn can be explored solo, with the player going it alone against the elements, or a party can be created, backing up the player with companions that’ll fight to keep you, and themselves, alive. You can craft and customize each party member from the ground up.
Your Story is To Be Written
Valorborn doesn’t have a scripted path, but it relies on player-driven stories, inviting the user to cast their eye around the world and uncover whatever narrative they can muster. This involves faction manipulation, contracts, side missions, tertiary activities, and intense combat sequences.

The Studio Behind Valorborn
Valorborn is being developed by Laps Games, a studio that previously assembled the popular survival colony simulation game, Land of the Vikings, which has racked up almost two thousand reviews on Steam.
