Since revealing the upcoming Indiana Jones game – ‘Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’, the team at MachineGames has been hard at work on the project, which is shaping up to be a passionate recreation of one of the most legendary film franchises ever made. In a recent article published on the Xbox Wire, the team revealed the depth of research that went into producing an authentic representation of Indy in this highly anticipated game.
Amongst other things, the team at MachineGames got to check out unseen Indiana Jones footage from ‘the Lucasfilm archives’, checking out content that very few people in history have seen.
Doing it Right
Indiana Jones is one of those franchises that can’t be recreated lightly. To that end, the folks at MachineGames have been poring over as much source material as possible, including having lengthy discussions with the writers responsible for creating the original Indiana Jones movies all those years ago. The squad also got access to exclusive unseen footage that never made it to air:
We managed to get access into some of the Lucasfilm archives as well, which for Indy fans has been an absolute dream come true, to get access to some of these things that perhaps not so many people have seen.
MachineGames has also made the painstaking effort of recreating Indy’s iconic outfits and has plugged into the soundtrack with Grammy Award-winning artist Gordy Haab, who has collaborated with Lucasfilm Games for years.
Presently, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle doesn’t have a release date, but it’s expected to be released on PC and Xbox Series X|S in 2024.
