Undead Chronicles Gets Chilling New Trailer at 28 Games Later Showcase

Insider Gaming’s 28 Days Later Showcase just screened an all-new trailer for Undead Chronicles, an upcoming zombie survival shooter that slows things down to build tension masterfully. It’s a hugely anticipated game with more than 100,000 wishlists on Steam, and it’s the result of a tiny developer pouring time, effort, and love into something that challenges the status quo.

Undead Chronicles is a first-person, end-of-the-world simulator that uses mysterious puzzles, a strong narrative, and deliberately challenging combat to build intrigue and fear, and below you can check out the game’s newest trailer.

What is Undead Chronicles?

Undead Chronicles is a gritty, morbid first-person zombie survival-shooter title set in an extremely unique time and location. It’s 1923 in Istanbul, and you assume control of RJ Edwards, an everyday British character with no incredible combat abilities or secret skills. He’s just a regular guy forced to survive against all odds and waves of bloodthirsty zombies.

It’s set after the end of the First World War and around the last year of the Allied occupation of Istanbul, a narrative that lends itself well to the city having supplies of weapons, ammunition, and military vehicles, but that doesn’t mean survival elements are made easier.

Key Features of Undead Chronicles

  • Realistic FPS Combat: Use a range of period-accurate weapons such as a bolt-action rifle and a lever-action shotgun, and pick off your targets with clean and deliberate headshots.
  • Brutal Gameplay: Every shot and every move matters in Undead Chronicles, and the game’s physics, survival elements, and movement mechanics are weighty and meaningful.
  • Grounded Puzzles: You’ll need to search every jacket pocket and drawer for clues and tools. There are no crowbars or ritual candles in this game, and every puzzle is based on something believable.
  • Real Places, Reimagined: The game’s Istanbul setting has been beautifully recreated and features locations such as the Imperial Ottoman Bank, the Basilica Cistern, Galata’s alleyways, and Sirkeci Station, all recreated and rebuilt with accurate architecture and visual elements.

The Studio Behind Undead Chronicles

Undead Chronicles has been developed by Seyfhouse Games, a one-man army represented by Seyfettin Dincturk. He has amassed almost a decade of experience working at companies like Electronic Arts and 2K Games, but now he’s crafting a new saga tied to the end of the world.

In Dincturk’s words, creating Undead Chronicles feels necessary because it’s delivering something that, for some reason, nobody is really doing right now. It’s a slow-paced, serious, and brutal zombie shooter that doesn’t rely on humor, massive hordes of the undead, or ostentatious weapons and over-the-top combat sequences.
