Toypunk is a comedic third-person shooter roguelite from Eighth Lantern Studios that was exclusively revealed as part of the Insider Gaming Showcase on May 28.
The game puts players in control of fully customizable puppets armed with an endless toybox of absurd weapons. Players battle through hordes of cotton-stuffed enemies across a variety of imaginative biomes, either solo or in co-op. Each run offers new synergies, new toys to unlock, and unpredictable combinations that evolve the way you play.
At its core, Toypunk is built around chaotic combat, replayable roguelite structure, and a lighthearted tone driven by physics-based interactions and over-the-top weapon design.

Players can fully customize their puppet using a “Mr Potato Head” style system, mixing and matching parts to create unique characters with distinct visual identities.

Combat revolves around a wide range of toy-inspired weapons. Players can build and experiment with different loadouts, unlocking new tools and synergies between runs.
Cotton Carnage Physics Combat
Fights play out across chaotic battles filled with ragdoll physics. Enemies made of cotton-stuffed materials react dynamically to weapons and environmental interactions, creating unpredictable combat scenarios.

The Studio Behind Toypunk
Eighth Lantern Studios is a fully remote development studio founded by Gabe Sheets in 2025.
The team includes developers with experience on major AAA franchises such as Call of Duty and Destiny, bringing over 300 years of combined industry experience. Despite being a new studio, the team emphasizes a strong focus on execution and shipping polished games, built on extensive prior experience across multiple shipped titles.
